This time has been very hard on him and he has been frustrated and sensory but with everything that has happened, he is determined and tenacious with everything he tries. Before he would give up. Character wise, he is has shown Resilience. as well as a caring and kind, little man. His confidence has definitely grown. His problem solving and maths have seemed to be a strength as is confident with numbers when they in front of him. His willingness to just keep on trying, together with believing that he can do it and he can read. He has suddenly become very happy to sit and read a book and it is all due to his little confidence. The computer has opened up a whole new world of learning for him. He has particularly enjoyed Art and Drama and the ability to have advanced notice on what is required of him and the time to prepare and complete the projects. I asked Andrew what he liked best of this time and these are his responses: 1. Google classroom is his new best friend. 2. He loves working on a computer. 3. He loves working at his own pace and that he can speed up the work. 4. He loves that he has had time to read books that he wants to read. 5. He loves that he has been able to do his own project work and learn Maths and English that is more challenging. 6. He has really enjoyed online and it is his first choice of schooling. His negatives are that he has missed sport and break time with his friends.A thirst for learning, discipline to tackle tasks quickly and methodically and meet deadlines, independence in managing his online learning programme. He flies through his school work by early each day and then has had time to read, play sport and work on his own maths and other project work.He is independent and strong, so the adjustment to online learning was very easy for him. Her creativity with art projects. Her reading ability. Maths work has been quick and easy. She can recall previous lessons from previous weeks and apply them to current work. We haven't needed to ever help teach concepts or spend time going over lessons. She has written some delightful sentences, although this is not always consistent. She has produced some beautiful art work. Reading has always been quick and easy. She loves reading and will often grab a book from our shelf and read to herself. Reading to herself is often a great tool to calm her down when upset and unreasonable. I can give her a book and tell her to go read and she calms down immediately. Yes; If Yes" or "Other"please give a brief example to support your answer She can be very distractible. She can stay on task if you sit in the room with her but you can't leave her on her own or she will be doing something else when you go check. If she has started a taskit is easier to leave her alone to complete the task. She can be really slow to get started with a task. There seems to be a motor planning element to this (and not just a concentration issue) as often if you help her get startedshe can then continue unaided. She can also rush through the instructions if you aren't with her and she will then make errors in her work. She can show too much attention to detail at times and at other times can rush through her work. She can be very resistant to correctionswanting to be left alone and do it herself rather than embracing the learning opportunity. She can be stubborn about doing things her way and in her time. Because of wifi constraints, we have had to set up our 'classroom' in the dining room with his three siblings and next door to his dad's study. Being with them and negotiating who needs to have their mics on, who needs the wifi, who is writing a test and who needs quiet has been interesting and growing. She will also often just assist her brother in ways she feels she can such as helping him get a snack or teaching him how to correctly pronounce and/or write a word. Rebecca is extremely resilient and her independance is more evident. She has become more tech savvy and her creative side comes through in so many different ways each day - this we especially feel has helped her cope with a lot of emotions during this time. Her independance has definitely helped her in carrying out the required tasks and learn to better navigate electronic devices. The strong desire in her to learn has driven her to want to work, especially with reading and writing and any praise received further motivates her to want to improve and learn more. N/AN/AN/AN/A105.213.93.249July 14, 2020 9:33 AMLeanne SalottoLuca Thomas Salotto 2HI believe Luca has grown a lot emotionally, dealing with not being around his friends and still maintaining a positive attitude. He has approached online schooling mostly with enthusiasm. Being at home, he has taken responsibility for his surroundings and helps with the chores on his own accord. He has matured a lot this year, we are seeing far fewer 'Melt Downs' over being told 'NO' He is able to work though an event and on his own and come to a conclusion as to whether he could have dealt with it differently. A prime example, he left his mask at home, he got himself into a complete panic, and couldn't see his way clear to going to school even when solutions were provided to him, but then upon coming home, and with his OT, he was able to work through the event and come to the conclusion on his own that he could have dealt with it better and actually gone to school, as he felt he has missed out on a fun day. Luca cares deeply about people, their feelings and their well being. He is dedicated as when he sets his mind to a task, he makes sure to complete it. He tackles tasks, especially Art, Reading Eggs and Maths with enthusiasm. His creativity has come through in that he can sit an entire day setting a scene that he has formulated in his mind and brings it to life with his toys. He Loves Dinosaurs, and his dedication to exploring this topic is always a source of amazement to us. I believe that Luca's hunger for knowledge supports his learning in that he is always willing to know more, to delve deeper into any topic that tickles his interest. His inquisitive, curious mind keeps him coming back for more. I also believe that once Luca understands a subject you then get a very different approach from him. It seems that she has grasped the basics of reading and maths and is now progressing quickly in these areas. She is also now able to work much more independently and I can trust her with tasks and leave her to do them while I work.- maturity in learning how to work independently - adaptability - she has adapted to our 'new normal' so well and is very comfortable working and playing from home. - she is able to entertain herself for hours and has found very creative ways to do so - she has loved learning to read and asks to do it a couple of times a day - her physical fitness and strength has definitely improved and she spends 4-5 hours a day cycling, running, jumping on her trampoline, doing karate and as well as daily 40min high-intensity zumba classes- her improved endurance and increased ability to concentrate means she can work for longer without breaks - her stubborn nature means she doesn't give up until the task is done - she loves playing games so I've included a lot of that in the learning programme (as have her teachers)Other; If Yes" or "Other"Well4 out of 5 ; Please give a comment if you wish to: Most of the time she really tried her best and was happy to correct her mistakes but she does have a tendency to rush through some tasks so she can go out and play. With being at home and having to learn how to navigate the Google Classroom, he seems to have gained focus, great confidence and far more consideration. He has become so organised and diligent; he is capable of working on his own, is thriving working independently and endeavours to become more independent (taking photos to submit his work and sometimes even doing so without me realising). Out of my boys, he certainly shined as the most social and in need of self-affirmation (before lockdown). In the beginning, he felt overwhelmed with his school work on about three occassions, to which Mrs Pitout responded brilliantly. He has not seemed to need much at all to socialise beyond our family. He is now remarkably confident about himself and his efforts. He is becoming more and more helpful around the house and with his brothers. The brothers share interesting ideas about their school activities and explore these ideas further by researching them.Ted's enthusiasm and eagerness has blossomed with his growth in self-confidence, organisation and independence. He is thriving with the online activities working diligently and independently. He asks for help when necessary and we go through (or give pointers about) some of his completed work with him if we notice obvious error (we believe that his submitted work must be a reflection of his capabilities). He is literally reading a chapter book a week without any persuasion from us. He is incredibly kind and patient and helps his little brother when he gets stuck with his tasks. Access to the technology has meant that he has been able to improve his research skills and loves to come to us with all the facts he has found. Public speaking and dramatics has taken on a whole new meaning for him. He LOVES doing his speeches and poems for the camera. Covered in the previous question NoWellSufficiently WellWellWell4 out of 5 ; Please give a comment if you wish to: Zach has given home schooling 100% of himself. He embraced it from day one and has thrived to some extent. 5 out of 5 ; Please give a comment if you wish to: So proud of this guy and the way he has managed it all, often assisting his younger brother too when Alistair and I have been unable. Zach has just been a Champ and I'm not just saying that cause he's mine 🙂 Thank you to all the teachers and staff who under tremendous pressure continue to make learning like this a special experience.0000Complete 0:36:12

He no longer needs quite as much supervision and is becoming more comfortable with this way of learning Jared has always been resilient, more so than I probably realise, however he definitely needs to “buy into” an idea before he really takes part. He continues to grow and become more independent while learning. He is generally very cheerful, entertaining and also very forgiving of my busy work schedule and not being able to give him as much time as both of us would like. He spends a lot of time alone but has made the best of this situation. Jared has had a tough time adjusting to this new way of learning and I’m only now starting to see him get into the swing of it and get through his work. As a result his confidence has improved as he realises that he has the ability to understand and complete the work by himself.Luke's reading has improved as he has had more time to spend reading without rushing through the books. Of particular value was the on-line reading sessions with Mrs Brown as he would practice before hand and was able to read the really ' difficult words' confidently during the on-line meet. Luke's planning and spacing of the work particularly in maths has improved tremendously. In the beginning he just could not line up the H.T.U columns and we had to use bigger quad squares. Now he is able to plan and most of the time he gets it right! His speech seems to have improved as he spends time talking to his friends over on-line games.Luke likes to please and because he is competitive he wants his work to be correct especially in front of other class mates on the on-line meets.Yes; If Yes" or "Other"Exceptionally Well4 out of 5 0Complete 2:00:00

N/AN/AN/AN/A45.222.7.17July 13, 2020 11:51 PMMegan HollidayMadison Holliday1NTo be honest, Madi has found lockdown trying on an emotional level. I’d say her greatest area of growth has been the fact that she now walks to class independently after working through some major morning anxiety. She’s so brave. It has also been amazing to watch her reading progress. Her confidence and skill in this area has grown a lot. Perseverance for sure. And the uncanny ability to take in information when it appears she’s not focused. She moves around a lot during her online lessons as well as when watching videos etc. but seems to take in all the necessary info and blows me away with what she retains. She just keeps trying. Even when she is having a bad day and doubting herself she (eventually) puts her head down and gets it done. Yes; If Yes" or "Other"Exceptionally Well4 out of 5 ; Please give a comment if you wish to: This is so very dependent on how Madi is feeling emotionally. If she’s in a good space she tries and focuses and is totally in control. If she doesn’t want to do it or thinks she can’t, she simply disengages. 3 out of 5 ; Please give a comment if you wish to: Again. So dependent on her head space. 0Complete 0:23:57
